Cookie statement

We use cookies on the Knowledge Center for Palliative Care for Children websites. Is your mouth watering already? We are not talking about stroopwafels, butter cake or chocolate chip cookies. But functional, analytical and advertising cookies. It may sound a bit boring, but these cookies are very useful! On this page we explain exactly how it works.

In short: what is a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of information that a website places on your computer, tablet or mobile phone when you visit the website. Information about your website visit is stored in a cookie.

Why do we place cookies?

Thanks to cookies, our website works just that little bit better. Cookies make the websites more personal and user-friendly. A cookie ensures that the website recognizes you on your next visit. For this, a file is placed on your phone or computer. This is useful, for example, if you do not want to log in again and again. With the help of cookies we can also analyse, optimize and secure the websites.

Three kinds of cookies

As mentioned in the introduction, we use three types of cookies: functional, analytical and advertising cookies. Below you can read how we use these different types of cookies.
1. Functional cookies
Functional cookies are necessary for the website to work properly. We do not ask permission for these cookies, because they are necessary for the proper functioning of our website. Our website automatically makes contact with the cookie that is on your device. For example, they ensure that you remain logged in. And have you made an application? Then you can easily submit a new application without having to enter all your details again.
2. Analytical Cookies
Analytical cookies help us measure visitor behavior on our website. This way we can see how often the website is visited, from which websites visitors come and which pages on a website are visited. Based on this information, we can optimize the website.
We use Google Analytics for our websites. Your privacy is not immediately completely gone. The Google Analytics code is anonymised, so that the statistics cannot be traced back to you as a specific person or to your specific location.
We use Google Optimize to perform A/B tests and similar tests on the website. We also collect this data anonymously. To prevent a user from ending up in multiple variants of a test, we store which variant has been seen.
Didn't you agree? Then we only use Google Analytics to see if our website is functioning properly. We use two versions of Google Analytics: Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Google Optimize is only active without an agreement if pages are part of a test. We only place all other analytical cookies after approval.
