Organization of pediatric palliative care

The necessary care for pediatric palliative care is provided by many different organisations, professionals and volunteers with their own visions and working methods. To provide good pediatric palliative care, a coordinated approach is very important.

The aim of the Knowledge Center for Palliative Care for Children is to improve the quality of care and support for families with a child with a life-shortening or life-threatening condition. This concerns care and guidance in the home situation. If you have a child who needs intensive care and/or pediatric palliative care, your family has a lot to deal with. There is a lot to arrange and you have to deal with many care providers and authorities. To help you as a family with this, 7 regional Networks for Integral Child Care (NIK) have been set up throughout the Netherlands. Together with you, they look at what is needed at the moment, but also at a later date. And that can be very practical.

The cohesion and responsibility in the organization of child palliative care is clearly displayed by means of an infographic - available in English.
